As electric cars are silent up to 15.53 mph, the German automaker Audi is working on a way to add sound to future electric cars. Sound is a distinctive feature of a vehicle.
Green cars do not only reduce pollution from emissions, but also from noise. However, silent cars can be dangerous as you do not hear them coming. Audi is therefore creating a distinctive sound for the e-tron model.
"The sounds used for space ships in films are reminiscent of car sounds, yet are also very different, making this a rather interesting approach," said Dr. Ralf Kunkel from Audi.
